Android 9 P rollout: which smartphone and when they will receive it

Android 9 is released in Developer Preview and the development continues waiting for the latest public release scheduled for the third quarter of 2018. The name of Android P is still unknown, but even now owners of some smartphones can install the preview of the update and get an idea of how it will be.

So far, Android beta versions have only been available for Google Pixel and Nexus phones, but this year everything changed with Project Treble. Now the Android P beta developer is available not only for Pixel owners, but also on:

Android 9: support and release dates

Regarding the official release of the new OS, the rollout will start in autumn 2018 and will continue until the first months of 2019. It is still too early to make any assumptions, but we can say with certainty that the new flagship smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +, Note 9, Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, and OnePlus 6 will certainly receive the update to Android P, candidates to be among the first on the list.
Very likely it will also be released for Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro and P10, as well as on LG G7(which should be released by June), LG G6 and LG V30.
If Google follows the same timing as last year, the Android 9 rollout on Asus smartphones will start at the end of the year. Android 8.0 for Asus Zenfone 4 arrived at the end of December 2017 and for Zenfone 3 at the end of January 2018. The problem is that the newcomer at Asus it is available only for Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 Lite and the mid-range version smartphone announced at MWC 2018. The update of Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5 will be released in the third quarter.

Only in February 2018 Honor 9 and View10 received Oreo, but according to AndroidPit it is likely that sooner or later also debuts Android P. In the list of probable we also find Motorola with Moto Z2 Play and Z2 Force; OnePlus 5 and 5T; Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8 Plus, Note 8, the new A3, A5 and A8, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, XZs and XZ2, Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi MIX 2. It would be programmed instead the release of Android P on Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 and Nokia 8.
