If you’re a geek, you’ve probably already tried to change your smartphone and as you know, the changes are done in recovery and fastboot. So accessing these modes is essential. Recovery and fastboot on Motorola or Lenovo
Fastboot
To get into recovery and fastboot on Motorola you will first need to understand how to enter Fastboot mode, which is the screen that you can get immediately with a precise combination of keys. To enter Fastboot on Motorola or Lenovo, just follow the procedure described below:
- Turn the phone off
- Press and hold the Volume keys (Up and Down) simultaneously
- Without releasing the Volume keys, press the power button for 3-4 seconds
- You will enter Fastboot mode on Motorola / Lenovo

Entered this mode simply connect the smartphone to the PC via USB cable and start to load ROM and any other modification via ADB.
To exit this mode just wait 1 minute without pressing any key, the device will turn itself off; alternatively, press the power button for 10 seconds.
Recovery
From a Motorola or Lenovo you can enter Recovery mode via Fastboot. The procedure to be followed so that you can enter Recovery is explained step by step below:
- Turn the phone off
- Press and hold the Volume keys (Up and Down) simultaneously
- Without releasing the Volume keys, press the power button for 3-4 seconds
- You will enter Fastboot mode on Motorola / Lenovo
- Use the Volume keys to move and the power button to confirm
- Use the Volume Down or Up key until the Recovery Mode item appears
- Press the power button to confirm
- You will now enter Recovery mode

Once confirmed, the phone will reboot and the green robot with the red exclamation mark will appear.
It would seem like a blank screen, but you actually have to press another key combination to access the recovery items.
This combination changes based on the Motorola or Lenovo device you are using; the most frequent ones are:
- Press the volume up and power button repeatedly
- Press the volume Down key for 5 seconds, while holding down press the power button once
- Hold down the Volume keys for 5 seconds, while holding down, press the power button once
Whatever the procedure you will find yourself in a screen similar to the following.
To move around in the options just use the Volume keys, while to confirm a choice you will have to use the power button.
To exit this mode just select Power off or wait 1 minute for the automatic shutdown.
