How to install Android on PC (Memu)

If you want to install Android on PC, all you need is one of the most famous software designed to emulate the Google smartphone operating system on your PC.

There are several emulators famous for Android but the first of which I want to talk to you is Memu, since this is a free software that offers a very high experience regarding its performance. I would like to begin to explain how to install and use this software: I think it is very valid.

Memu is without any doubt an excellent software for the emulation of Android on PC and you can download it by connecting to its official website. Once you have connected to the indicated link, just hit the Download button in the middle of the web page to start downloading the software.

You’ll clearly have to wait a few minutes for the download to be properly downloaded to your computer.

Done? Very well. At this point open the file you downloaded to begin to install the program.

Then, when prompted, click on the Yes button to run the installation client. Now you will need to select the preferred installation language using the Custom button and the Select Language menu. To start the installation of Memu on PC press the Install button.

When the installation is complete, you will have to click on the Start button to run Memu. At this point, if you have correctly performed all the steps mentioned so far, Memu will be running on your PC.

How to configure the use of Memu on PC

In case the configuration procedure does not start automatically, you can start it manually by clicking on the  Google Play Store icon. In this way Memu will start the configuration wizard for the Google account.

As I mentioned, now choose whether you want to log in with your existing Google Account or create a new one. In case you decide to link your Google account, click on the Existing button.

Now type the e-mail address and password that refer to your account. Then press the forward arrow and the OK button to allow Memu to access your data.

You will then be asked if you want to use your Google account to back up your apps and settings. This is an optional operation but if you want to confirm it, enable the checkmark Keep active backup tablet with my Google account. 

To continue, press the arrow forward. Press the Accept button now to accept the Google terms and conditions.

Now you just have to press the No thanks to avoid adding your payment information; To install Android apps on your PC and use the Memu emulator, you do not need to enter your billing information.

A small note: if you encounter problems in opening the Google Play Store, it is possible that there is a small hitch that you can easily solve, by checking in the Memu settings the virtual device model generated. Doing it is very simple; I’ll explain it to you right away.

In the Memu side menu, click on the gear symbol to go to the emulator settings. Look for the Advanced menu at the top and click on it. Under the heading Device, take a look at the model of virtual device that has been generated (for example Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.)

As you can see, if you click on the drop-down menu, among all the names, there are models of some popular Chinese devices like for example Xiaomi Mix. If by chance one of the Chinese devices is selected, this could be the cause of the blocked access to the Google Play Store.

As a result, make sure that as a virtual device model generated there are more common Android devices. You can safely change the virtual device and set the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Edge or Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

At this point, confirm this item by pressing the Save button and press Restart now to restart Memu and confirm this setting immediately.

Be patient and wait for the software to reboot and correct the settings; once you return to the main emulator screen, everything should work correctly. So you can use Memu as an Android emulator on a PC.

Do you encounter problems with the user interface?

One of the most common uses of Android emulators and for the download of Android games on PC and from this point of view, BlueStacks is equally valid and optimized for gaming. On a general level, I think that BlueStacks is a great software: you can easily use it to install Android on PC.

If you want to use the Android apps on your PC and you want to try BlueStacks, the first thing you need to do is to download and install the software on your computer. So, first connect to the official website of the software by clicking here, then press the BlueStacks 3 button to download the new version of the emulator on your computer.

Wait until the download procedure is started and then completed; once completed, double click on the file you just downloaded to start the installation of the program.

In the installation window that will open, immediately click on the Install Now button to start the installation procedure. As you can see, the installation procedure for BlueStacks 3 has been greatly reduced thanks to the new update.

The Android emulator will install and start automatically after a few minutes of installation. Once the installation is finished and you will be shown a brief guide with the introduction to the operation of the emulator: press the arrow forward to continue or directly the X button to close the tutorial if you do not care.

How to configure the use of BlueStacks on PC

Once BlueStacks 3 starts, you first have to choose whether you want to allow applications to access your location. This option allows a better user experience but is optional: you can then independently press the Agree or Disagree button respectively to accept or deny.

Now you will have to perform the procedure to create your own BlueStacks account and to do so you can use the Google account. After selecting the language using the drop-down menu, you will be in the Login screen where you can proceed choosing whether to set up an existing Google account or if you create a new one for the occasion.

In case you have chosen to use an existing Google account you will need to proceed by completing the proposed form with the login and password data related to your Google account. Otherwise, if you had chosen to create a new one, you will have to fill in the data for the registration of a new profile.

In the next step you will also be asked if you want to enable or disable all settings related to data synchronization. You will also be asked if you want to enable or disable the BlueStacks geolocation. Keep in mind that these are completely optional options: you can freely choose whether to accept or reject, by affixing or removing the check mark on the  Backup and Restore and Location items. 

The last step involves the addition of a payment method: in this case, you can safely skip the procedure by pressing the No Thanks button. It is not mandatory to add a payment method to use the Android emulator. We are almost there: if you want you can customize your Android BlueStacks emulator, indicating your name and last name in the appropriate text fields and then continue pressing the arrow forward.
