Is it Christmas, New Year, birthday or a casual meeting with friends and family? Here is a list of multiplayer games with quick matches for group play, either in local co-op mode or each for you. Check out our selection of split-screen group games on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.
Importantly, we list match-focused games rather than titles that offer a cooperative campaign. The idea is to gather all the people for fun, taking turns between pairs or teams and not leaving completing the long missions.
Multiplayer games for any video game

Mortal Kombat is that franchise that few people who like games are unaware of. Whether it’s laughing at the fatalities or getting stressed about not being able to perform a combo, it’s a good title to play in class.
2. Just Dance
If the footprint is to dance, then Just Dance is the way. The only caveat though is that, depending on the console, the title will require extra accessories to map player movements.
3. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Who has never heard of Crash either? This 2019 remaster allows you to split the screen with up to 4 people in arcade mode. Grab an outfit and set the trap!

Group Games for Nintendo Switch
It’s obvious how focused Nintendo is on creating a family environment for its multiplayer gaming consoles. No Switch is no different, so much so that you can see it in the graphic style of the company’s franchises such as Mario and Pokémon.
The problem with these games is that they are unique to the branded video game, not available on other consoles. Here are five more for group multiplayer:
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Kart showed up at Super Nintendo and has since reigned in the racing game universe for Nintendo consoles, especially when the goal is just to have fun. Split the screen with four people and enjoy the good times.
2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together not only Nintendo characters but also other franchises like Street Fighter, Metroid, Castlevania. It was the fastest selling game on the Nintendo Switch, no wonder: fun is guaranteed for up to 8 people.
3. Super Mario Party
Super Mario Party is dedicated to group play, multiplayer modes allow each player to use only one Joy-Con, playing either for themselves or in pairs – up to four players. There are several mini games within main mode.
4. Snipperclips: Cut it out, together!
At least two people must come together to solve the puzzles of each phase, combining objects and shapes. Snipperclips are fun and funny as you discover the possibilities for each scenario. Lets play with up to four people.
5. Splatoon 2
This is a friendly shooter game. Instead of focusing on killing as many enemies as possible, players (up to eight) should focus on painting as much space as possible before the opposing team.
