Registration on OSM
The OSM start page foresees the acceptance of the terms of use of the game, with the simple addition of a check mark next to the I accept that OSM will use my personal information as described and a click on the Continue button.
On the next screen the system requires registration of a new account. You have the option to complete the registration by logging into your Facebook profile ( Sign up with Facebook ) or by entering the nickname with which you want to play ( Choose manager name ), and then press the Create account button to confirm.
The next step is to enter a password ( Choose password ) to associate with the account, then click on the Confirm button. After a few seconds the system requests the insertion of a six-digit alphanumeric code to be entered in the Repeat Password field, then select the Start your career button to start a new game of Online Soccer Manager.
Championships
Once registration is complete, the next step is to choose one of the championships of the Online Social Manager game from those suggested: Italy (Serie A), England (Premier League), Spain (Liga), France (Ligue 1), European Elite A (Champions League), Italy Second Division (Serie B), Netherlands (Eredivisie).
Clicking on Other League, the choice becomes much wider, so as to cover almost all the internationally known championships.

Team choice
The time has come for the team to be trained on OSM. In theory all the teams are available, but the most competitive ones require a certain amount of credits to be purchased in the online video game shop.
If, for example, the choice falls on the Serie A championship, the teams for which credit is required are Inter, Juventus, Napoli, Milan, Lazio, Roma, Atalanta and Fiorentina. Under the name of each club there is the word Objective with the position in the ranking next to which the company aims at the end of the season.
To make the final choice of the team it is necessary to click on the specific square of the team, then press on the Signature button after having read the contractual conditions.
Tactics on OSM
Immediately after signing the contract, you are asked to choose the form to be deployed in the field with the starting line-up. To access Online Soccer Manager tactics, click on the Team section, then on Tactics.
In the new screen displayed, the system gives the virtual coach the chance to choose first and foremost the style of play to be adopted. The choice is between the following styles:
- Tiki-taka
- wing play
- Counter
- Pull from any position
- Long ball
We recommend choosing a tactic based on the type of players you have available. For example, if you have a technical team you can line up with the attacking midfielder in a 4-3-1-2 classic, a module that in OSM is indicated with the 4-4-2 b formation, adopting the tiki-taka as game philosophy.
Instead, if you have very strong attacking exteriors the best choice could be 4-3-3 with the addition of play on the wings.
In the Tactics section, you enter even more in detail. We can ask the attackers to always stay in the attack, to support the midfield or to return. Our midfielders can be licensed to move into the opposing area, maintain their position and remain locked in midfield or perform a purely defensive task by helping the defense line.
If we assume a 4-3-1-2, with a technical midfield and two full-backs able to push, the best solutions to adopt are the following:
- Attackers: supporting the midfield
- Midfielders: maintain the position
- Defenders: offensive fullbacks
The 4-3-1-2 module, with a game philosophy based on tiki-taka, works best if the press team plays offensive and with rhythm. We recommend the following values:
- Pressing: 70 (Close spaces)
- Style: 60 (Offensive)
- Tempo: 60 (Quick passes)
Finally, you can choose between man or area marking, whether to use the offside trap or not and the level of contrasts. We suggest setting these values, always referring to the 4-3-1-2 module:
- Marking: zone
- Offside trap: Yes
- Trapling: Normal
Training
In addition to the Tactics area, another key section of the OSM football game is Training, included in the Training Structures category. The club has four trainers, each of whom works in a specific area. To improve the ability of a young player on whom we bet a lot, you need to click on the Select player button, then choose the player you want to follow personally by your coach.
Personalized training has a cost, although not excessive (12k) and takes about 8 hours to complete. At the end, the player will improve his rating by one point in the assigned role. For example, if we choose to train a defender, the latter will increase the score in Defense by one point.

Notice how the potential level it can reach appears next to each player. The younger players almost always have a significantly greater potential than the players who are over 30, so it is more convenient to bet on their growth rather than that of an over 30.
How to buy and sell players on OSM
The transfer list on OSM is visible following the path Team > Transfer List. If you want to buy a footballer, select it, then click on Engage and set a sum of money that corresponds to the offer to present to the club for the player. There are options available to buy a football player:
- Transfer list: players offered for sale by the respective companies
- Scout: you can ask club observers to identify players based on certain characteristics, such as Position, Quality, Nationality, Style, Age, Championship. The scouting has a predetermined price (60k) and ends within a day (or immediately if you use the credits available) with the presentation of three players who respond to the desired characteristics and a price that takes into account the money available in the coffers of society
- Offers to other teams: finally, it is possible to present an offer for a specific player of an opposing team even if it is not included in the transfer list, but the negotiation is more complicated
Selling players on OSM is even easier. In fact, it is sufficient to go to the Players category, select a player and choose whether to add it to the transfer list (by setting a specific sales value) or sell it instantly by consuming some credits.
We advise you to opt for the first solution, so that you can get a higher sum of money and thus increase your club’s finances.
How to make money on OSM
The easiest way to make money on OSM is to focus on a robust transfer campaign, trying to get as much capital gains as possible (you buy a talented player a little, you grow it from game to game and then sell it at a higher price ).
Another method to earn more money is to select the sponsors for each sector of your stadium, so as to obtain a fixed income for each home game played. Furthermore, it is possible to invest in the club’s infrastructure, such as the stadium. If you choose to increase the capacity of the gaming system, the increases from the box office will increase dramatically.
Play a game on OSM
Unlike other football management games, the game on OSM is managed in complete autonomy by the CPU, which at the end of the match releases the match report with the final score and complete statistics.
This means that there is no need for our presence to play a league or cup game, the whole process is entrusted to the CPU. We cannot therefore act in any way on possible substitutions or changes of form during the meeting, but we must only wait for the final whistle of the referee to know the result.
