The Google Play Store sometimes reserves us unpleasant surprises, stuck at any moment and showing rather annoying error messages. Each number corresponds to a specific problem and in this article you will find the list with all the errors found on the Play Store and the respective solutions.

In general, the solutions to the problems encountered on the Play Store consist of a combination of the following steps:
- Clear the cache of the Play Store / Google Play Services / Google Services Framework.
- Delete data from the Play Store / Google Play Services / Google Services Framework.
- Remove updates to the Play Store.
- Remove and restore the Google account.
- Reset the device to factory data.

Google Play – Error Processing Purchase DF-BPA-09
Problem
This problem often occurs when trying to download an application from the Play Store.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Application Management> All> Google Services Framework and click Clear Data and then Finish.
If this trick does not work, try installing the app from the web version of the Play Store. Here you can select the destination device and the payment method used.
Google Play – Error DF-BPA-30
Problem
The cause of this problem is related to Google servers.
Solution
- Access the Play Store from the web (from your PC, for example).
- Select the app you want to install on your Android, the one with the DF-BPA 30 error.
- Take your device in your hand and start the download which should now proceed without problems.
Otherwise, delete data or Google Play Services cache.
Google Play – Error DF-DLA-15
Problem
You can not carry out an update or download of an application.
Solution
First delete the cache and data from the Play Store app. To proceed, go to Settings> Applications and select the Play Store. On some smartphones you need to enter the microSD to see this option displayed. If you can not solve the problem this way, remove the Google Account and restore it immediately.
Google Play – rpc error: aec: 0
Problem
It is impossible to download an application.
Solution
Remove your Google account from Settings> Accounts> Google and disable accounts that use sync. Delete the data from the Play Store and restart the device.
Google Play – Error rh01 / rpc: s-5: aec-0:
Problem
The application can not receive the right information from the server.
Solution
- Remove your account from Settings> Accounts> Google.
- Restore it and resynchronize your Google account.
- Go to Settings> Applications> All> Play Store and click on Clear Data and Force Stop.
Google Play – Error retrieving server information
Problem
This error message appears while updating or downloading an app. Google servers are not able to retrieve information about your Google account. In this case it is possible to remove the account, restore it and wait a few hours if the problem persists. The problem sometimes solves itself.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Account> Google and to remove your account.
- Restart the device and resynchronize the account.
- Go to Settings> Applications> All > Google Services Framework and click Clear Data and Force Stop.
Google Play – BM-RGCH-06 error
Problem
This problem occurs when you want to use a Google Play Store card. The problem seems to present itself in several countries.
Solution
Try restarting the device. If the problem persists, go to Settings> Applications> Play Store> Force stop> Uninstall updates. The Play Store will return to its original version and should no longer show the error.
Google Play – rpc: s-3 error
Problem
An application can not be downloaded.
Solution
Remove your Google account and restore it immediately afterwards. Using another Google Account is another way to solve the problem.
Google Play – “Authentication is required” error
Problem
This is a rather common error on Android devices. To solve it we have three different solutions available.
Solution
1. Go to the Account section, remove the Google account and restore it.
2. Access the settings menu of the Play Store app and delete the data (if it does not work, try also to clear the cache).
3. If the two solutions above did not work, go to Settings> Applications, look for the Play Store app and uninstall the updates. You will probably have to disable the Play Store in order to access this feature. In this way you will find yourself in front of the original version of the Play Store. You just have to proceed with the update and registration.
Google Play – “Invalid package file” error
Problem
This is an error that occurs when trying to download an app.
Solution
Clear the cache and data from the Play Store. Go to Settings> Applications> Google Play Store and proceed with the operation.
Google Play – Error 8
Problem
This is an error that occurs when trying to download an app and the download is interrupted.
Solution
Make sure you have Google Play Services installed. If the problem persists, access the list of apps and deactivate Google Play Services. You will be asked to restore the factory settings: accepted. If the problem persists contact the Google assist.
Google Play – Error 18
Problem
This is an error that came to life at the end of 2015 when trying to reinstall an app already installed in the past. There is no quick solution to this problem but some tricks can help.
Solution
After consulting several forums, it seems that some users have managed to solve the problem by extracting and re-inserting the memory card on the smartphone. Unfortunately, however, this trick does not work with all users. If the problem persists contact the assistance or try to reset the device to factory data.
Google Play – Error 20
Problem
This is a not very common error that is generally displayed when trying to download or update applications.
Solution
The problem is related to the storage space not enough to accommodate the new applications. To get rid of them, first check that you are connected to the network and delete some apps that you do not use. Then try to restart the device and proceed with the installation or update of the app. If the problem should happen again you just have to proceed with a reset of the device.
Google Play – Error 24
Problem
Generally this problem occurs due to the presence of data related to applications, including the same Play Store, which were not deleted during the installation of a custom ROM. If you are faced with this error message, it is probably because you have recently flashed a custom ROM.
Solution
If you have not obtained the root permissions, you can try to solve the problem by deleting the data of the app of the Play Store but the most effective solution provides access to permissions from Super User.
- Take advantage of a file explorer that can access root permissions and look for the / Data / Data folder.
- Look for the package name of the app you want to uninstall (the name of the data package, or ID, is in the URL of the app you will find on the Play Store).
- Delete the entire folder.
- Try installing the application again.
Google Play – Error 101
Problem
This is an error not very similar to 919. To get rid of it you will have to remove the apps and other unused files to make some space on your Android.
Solution
- Eliminate music, data, movies, videos or large apps.
- If the problem persists, remove your Google account and restore it.
Google Play – Error 103
Problem
This error seems to occur when the Play Store considers an app compatible with the device even if it is not. The Play Store then tries to install the app but fails to complete the operation. As a result, error 103 will appear.
Solution
This is a problem that solves itself after a few hours. If you have developmental knowledge you can try to solve it yourself with 1.6+ JDK tools. If the error persists for more than 48 hours, contact support.
Google Play – Error 110
Problem
Occurs when trying to install an application.
Solution
Empty the cache of the Play Store and delete the data by accessing Settings <Applications <Play Store (if you do not find the option available try to insert the SD card, on Huawei and Honor devices it is a necessary step).
Google Play – Error 194
Problem
This problem often occurs when trying to download a game or an application from the Play Store.
Solution
- Delete data from Google Play Services and the Google Play Store. To do this, go to Settings> Application management> All and select the Google Play Store app. Then click on Force stop and then on Clear data.
Repeat the same steps for the Google Play services app. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed on your device and if the problem persists try disabling and reactivating the WIFI connection.
Google Play Store – Error 403
Problem
This problem occurs when two accounts are synchronized on the same device. After making a purchase, downloading an app is impossible.
Solution
- Access the Play Store with the right account.
- Uninstall the problematic app.
- Go back to the home page of the Play Store, look for the app and click on Buy/Install.
- Problem solved!
Google Play – Error 406
Problem
This error also occurs when trying to download an app and the causes are mysterious for now.
Solution
Remove your Google account, restart your device, restore your account. If it does not work, return your device to the factory data with a reset.
Google Play – Error 413
Problem
Applications and updates can not be downloaded. If you use a proxy, remember that this may create problems with the Google Play Store.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Application Management> All> Google Services Framework and click Clear Data and then Finish. Proceed in the same way for the application of Google Play. Clear the cache of your browser.
Google Play – Error 481
Problem
Problem that occurs with the download of applications and updates.
Solution
Once again you will need to access the settings, access the list of applications and select the Play Store. From here you delete the cache and data and update the Play Store. If the problem persists, remove your Google account and restore it later.
Google Play – Error 491
Problem
Download and app updates impossible.
Solution
- Remove your Google account from Settings> Accounts> Google, restart your Android and re-configure your account.
- Go to Settings and follow the path Applications> All> Google Play Services and select options Delete Data and Terminate.
Google Play – Error 492
Problem
Unable to install an application. The problem is related to the Dalvik cache.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Application Management> All> Google Services Framework, click on Clear Data and then on Finish. Proceed in the same way for the Google Play Store application.
If you are not able to solve the problem you can try to delete the Dalvik cache (only for users with root). Another solution is to perform a wipe data/factory reset.
Google Play – Error 495
Problem
This is a problem that occurs when downloading or installing an app, but fixing it is fairly simple.
Solution
Go to Settings> Applications> Play Store and clear caches and data. Update the app and if the problem persists uninstall the Google account and then install it again.
Google Play – Error 497
Problem
This is a problem that occurs when trying to update an application.
Solution
Clear the cache and data of the Play Store and do not forget to save the app you want to use on the internal memory and not on the SD card.
Google Play – Error 498
Problem
Stop downloads from the Google Play store. The cache memory of your device is full.
Solution
- Delete some unnecessary applications, clear the memory from unnecessary files and restart in recovery mode (Volume Down + Power key + Home). Select Wipe Cache Partition using the volume key and press the power button.
Google Play – Error 501
Problem
The app has been downloaded but the installation does not work.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Application Management> All> Google Play Services and click Uninstall updates.
- In case it does not work, go back to Settings> Application Management> All> Google Play Services and click on Clear Cache.
- If this trick does not work, log out of your Google account, log in again and follow the steps above.
Google Play – Error 504
Problem
This problem occurs when trying to update games but can also be presented when downloading a new app.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Apps> All> Play Store.
- Delete data and force stop.
- Perform the same procedure for Google Play services.
We also managed to solve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the problematic app.
Google Play – Error 505
Problem
This problem occurs when the download of an app is interrupted. To be more precise this error indicates the app you are trying to install is not optimized with the available Android version.
Solution
The only way to solve the problem is to send an email to the app developers through the Google Play Store.
Google Play – Error 905
Problem
Unable to download applications.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Apps> All, choose the Play Store app and select the Uninstall updates option.
Google Play – Error 906
Problem
This problem comes alive especially on HTC One M8 and M9 and concerns the download or update of the app. Errors 907 and 963 are similar and are resolved in the same way.
Solution
As always, it is necessary to clear the cache and delete the data from the Play Store. If it does not work, uninstall the updates. If the problem persists, deactivate the SD card ( Settings> Storage ). Go back to the Play Store and install the application. If you can not solve the problem you may have the app installed on the external memory card: move it to the internal memory of the device, you can transfer it again once installed the app.
Google Play – Error 907
Problem and solution correspond to those shown for error 906.
Google Play – Error 963
Problem and solution correspond to those shown for error 906.
Google Play – Error 911
Problem
This problem stops app downloads.
Solution
Once again you will need to go to Settings> Applications> Play Store and delete the data. The problem could be linked to the expiration of the authentication (for example, if you are connected to the airport WIFI which has meanwhile expired). In this case, launch the browser, access the WIFI or connect to another network or, alternatively, use the data connection.
Google Play – Error 919
Problem
The app has been downloaded but the installation does not work. There is simply no more space in your device.
Solution
- Erase data, music, movies, videos and applications that take up the memory of your device. Do not forget to make a complete backup before erasing data!
Google Play – Error 920
Problem
Yes, this error also occurs when trying to download an app from the Play Store.
Solution
Try disabling and reactivating the WIFI. Open the Play Store and try to start downloading the app. If the problem persists, remove your Google account, restart the device and reset the account. If it does not work, try creating a new account or, alternatively, delete the Play Store cache.
Google Play – Error 921
Problem
The application could not be downloaded. The solution is the same as reported for error 923.
Solution
- Open the settings and select Application Administration. Among the applications you are looking for the Google Play Store, and select Clear cache. In this way, in most cases, the error will no longer occur.
- If the problem occurs again, remove your Google account. Then delete some unneeded applications and files and restart in recovery mode (Volume down + Power Button + Home). Then select Wipe Cache Partition and click Reboot now. Reset your Google account.
Google Play – Error 923
Problem
Unable to proceed with the download. The cache memory of your device is probably full.
Solution
- Remove your Google account. Then delete some unneeded applications and files and restart in recovery mode (Low Volume + Power Button + Home). Then select Wipe Cache Partition and click Reboot now. Reset your Google account.
Google Play – Error 924
Problem
This error usually appears when trying to download a rather heavy application. After downloading the app file from the Play Store, error 924 will appear to inform you that installation is not possible.
Solution
- Go to Settings> Apps> All> Google Play Store and choose the Uninstall updates option.
Google Play – Error 927
Problem
Unable to download. Update of the current Play Store.
Solution
- Wait a few minutes for the Google Play Store to complete its update in the background.
- If the problem persists go to Settings> Applications> All> Google Services Framework, click the Delete data button and then Finish. Proceed in the same way for the Google Play Store application.
Google Play – Error 940
Problem
The application could not be downloaded.
Solution
Restart the device and, if you are lucky, this operation will suffice to solve the problem. Otherwise, go to Settings> Apps> Play Store and clear the cache. Do the same with Google Play Services. Some users have had to delete data from Chrome, Hangouts and other Google apps to get rid of this error.
Google Play – Error 941
Problem
Download interrupted.
Solution
Go to Settings> Apps> Play Store and clear the cache and data. Do the same for the download manager.
Google Play – Error 944
Problem
This is a problem that seems to come from Google’s servers. Not all applications are affected by this error in the same way we have a true solution valid for all cases.
Solution
For the moment the only solution is to wait for the app update. Alternatively, you can browse for the app’s APK file and install it manually.
Google Play – Error 961
Problem
Unable to install an app.
Solution
- Go into Settings> Applications> All> Google Play Store and clear your cache. If the problem persists, follow the procedure just described, but this time click on Clear data.
Google Play – Error 975
Problem
