That’s right: surprisingly and before many other top of the range, starting today the ASUS ZenFone 5Z (2018) is updated to Android 10: download the firmware now.
Unbelievable but true, the update to Android 10.0 for the Asus Zenfone 5Z is finally available for download. Or better: the update is not yet available for everyone via OTA, but if you are anxious to update you can download the image of the new firmware and install it immediately by hand on your smartphone.
In addition to the new features of Android 10, the ZenUI 6 brings with it several functional innovations and, above all, a simple and clean graphic interface that is very reminiscent of Android 10 stock. To be highlighted, however, the addition of a native application to record the screen, one-hand mode, Game Genie and other exclusive features made by ASUS, in addition to the many native ones present by default in Android 10.
Note: the firmware is in BETA version, so it could present some bugs, problem and malfunction. However, this is a public BETA, so stable enough to be officially released by Asus for all users.

Here are the steps to follow to immediately install Android 10 on Asus Zenfone 5Z.
In essence you will have to download the firmware image on PC or MAC, copy the file to the smartphone’s microSD and then install it by hand.
Please note that it will take about 30-35 minutes before the smartphone installs the new update.
You will NOT lose your files, but I recommend making a security backup before proceeding, just to feel comfortable.
Obviously remember to start this procedure with at least 50% of available battery power and do the whole thing assuming all the risks involved.
Finally, before proceeding make sure you own the ZS620KL with the latest firmware updates installed. Otherwise it is better to give up and wait for the arrival of the OTA.
At this point you must:
- download the firmware from the link below (version 100.04.44.67)
- copy it to the device’s microSD card
- enter recovery mode (with the smartphone turned off, volume DOWN + power button until the recovery menu appears)
- select the appropriate “apply update from microSD” option
- at this point the smartphone will restart and the update procedure will begin
