Frequently Asked Questions
Is my data stored in the cloud?
No. All your data (kick sessions, contractions, notes, mood, and preferences) is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your data and nothing is uploaded to any server.
What happens if I delete the app?
Uninstalling BabyKicks permanently deletes all your data. Since there is no cloud backup, this cannot be undone. We recommend exporting a PDF report before uninstalling if you want to keep your records.
How do I export a PDF report?
Go to the Trends tab, tap “Export PDF” at the top. Choose your date range (7, 14, or 30 days) and the report will be generated on your device. You can then share it via your preferred method (email, messaging, etc.).
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual sessions by swiping left on them in the History tab. To delete all data at once, go to Settings and use the “Delete All Data” option.
How does “Count to 10” work?
Start a session, then tap the button each time you feel your baby move. The session automatically completes when you reach 10 kicks. Healthcare providers often recommend counting to 10 kicks — most babies reach this within 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Can I count kicks from my Lock Screen?
Yes. When you start a session, a Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen. You can tap “Record Kick” without unlocking your device. Kicks recorded from the Lock Screen are automatically synced into your session.
How do I change my reminder time?
Go to Settings and adjust the daily reminder time. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no internet connection is needed.
Does BabyKicks work offline?
Yes, completely. BabyKicks works without any internet connection. All features — kick counting, contraction timing, trends, heatmaps, PDF export, and reminders — work entirely offline.
Can I track contractions too?
Yes. Switch to the Contractions tab on the Count screen. Tap to start and stop each contraction. The app tracks duration, interval, and shows a 5-1-1 pattern indicator to help you know when to contact your healthcare provider.
What does the heatmap show?
The heatmap on the Trends screen shows your baby’s movement patterns across the week. Each cell represents a 3-hour block. Darker colors indicate more activity. It helps you see when your baby is most active — useful for both curiosity and sharing with your doctor.
BabyKicks is a wellness tracking tool, not a medical device. If you have concerns about your baby’s movement or your pregnancy, please contact your healthcare provider immediately.
