Apple officially announced the plan to re-launch itself as a service company. Here is the titanium paper and the exclusive original contents
It’s March 25th, and it’s “show time”. The Apple event has just ended at the Steve Jobs Theater, thanks to which the Cupertino company hopes to positively shake the minds of users and markets. Apple is about to make an internal revolution, re-launching itself as an even more service-oriented company, producing original content, online payments. On the other hand, you don’t live on hardware alone. The speakers, introduced from time to time by CEO Tim Cook, have introduced the new services and collaborations that Apple is now about to launch. Let’s see them one by one.
Apple News Plus presented
It is “the Netflix of information”. As already known, News+ is a subscription service that allows you to read magazines, newspapers and news about Apple products. Presented by Tim Cook as the anti-fake news, the new News has over 300 newspapers and magazines in its catalog and is edited by a team of editors who select and select relevant and secure content.
The cost of the service will be $9.99 a month. Among the most important partners are the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times. In the United States and Canada it is available today (the first month is free), other regions will have to wait a little longer.
New Apple Card announced
Apple Card is the new payment system from the Cupertino company, “designed to make better choices with your money”. The app will make it possible to keep track of all transactions, but the most exciting news is the “reward” system, rewards, the Daily Cash.
For each purchase made with an Apple Card, an amount of money corresponding to 2% of the purchase will be added directly to the account. 3% for Apple products and content. The titanium physical credit card, without CVV and expiration date, was also announced. For every purchase made with the card, another 1% will be paid to the account.
Apple becomes a video game publisher
On the Steve Jobs Theater stage it was then the turn of video games. Like the other giant tech Google, Apple intends to invest in a very profitable and popular area, strong in the billion video game downloads from the App Store. The new video game service is called Apple Arcade, a subscription that allows you to download a hundred (for the moment) exclusive games for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users only.
A cross-media project, therefore, from which annoying advertisements will obviously be excluded, and which will be available in 150 countries. Arcade will be available next fall, Apple has not said how much it will cost.
Presented Apple TV Plus
Great space within the event was dedicated to new TV services, with which Apple intends to set up Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video. Apple TV Channels is part of the modernization of the Apple TV App: the information is that which, more or less, had already arrived. There are many channels in the catalog, and a personalized service based on the most advanced machine learning was created to help the user choose what to watch. An entire area of the TV app is dedicated to movies, for which you can pay individually each time (VOD).
The real novelty is that the service will be available for the first time also on Mac and Smart TV, not only on Apple products. Already announced partnerships with Samsung and LG. The service will be available in more than 100 countries, again starting this fall.
As for AppleTV Plus, or the original content, the Cupertino company boasts collaborations with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Jason Momoa, JJ Abrams, and Oprah Winfrey, all of whom have followed on stage to announce series and programs of which they will be protagonists.
