Who does not know Adobe Photoshop? It can be defined as the photo editing software par excellence and anyone who has had the opportunity to relate to work or hobby with image processing or make a photo montage with Photoshop, knows all its features well. The only limitation is that it is too heavy and complex to use in a basic form. This problem seems to be common to all platforms, be it Windows, MacOS or iOS. For Android it’s the same thing, so we’re looking for alternative Photoshop apps to use easily for photo editing on these devices. In this article, we will see the best Photoshop alternatives for Android.
In particular, iOS devices are provided with a nice assortment of alternative apps to Photoshop, so it is not difficult to find photo editing applications, download them from the App Store and produce the desired result. Instead on Android the story is a bit ‘different. We went looking for Photoshop-like programs for Android smartphones that can replace the photo-editing functions, and here is our list of the three best Photoshop alternatives for Android users.
The best Photoshop alternatives for Android
Among the best Photoshop alternatives for Android, Toolwiz Photos is in the first place. The number of tools, filters and effects that are provided with the Toolwiz Photos App is remarkable. There are so many that Toolwiz assigns an icon to each feature within the app and the icons extend over five pages: advanced, tone, tools, effects and others.
Toolwiz allows you to make virtually any changes you can imagine. And if you do not think about it, you can use the search to find the tool you’re looking for. Each tool has several feature options for making the most advanced changes. To indicate only some of the many features of Toolwiz: correction tool, cropping tool, patch, defog, automatic adjustment, skin tones, perspective, mosaic, stickers, frames, lens reflections, fisheye, sketch, abstract and inverted.
The cropping tool, in particular, is worth highlighting as it allows you to make selections and create transparent PNGs.
If you click on the three dots next to Save, Toolwiz allows you to go back and see all the changes made and reverse any changes made within the timeline. This comes in handy when you realize you like some of the changes you’ve made previously and then want to go back.
Toolwiz Photos is a free application, but does not support layers. Apart from that, the rest is very close to Photoshop’s functionality on Android and allows you to make fine-tuned changes on your photos.
Snapseed is an advanced Free app of Google photo editor for Android. It comes with dozens of features to edit or transform your images, as well as dozens of filters to be applied and edited individually.
Some of the tools included are RAW development, crop, rotate, transform, brush, correction, vignette and selective adjustment. You can also make regular changes with the Tune image tool such as auto-adjustment, brightness, saturation, contrast and more.
In addition to the main tools, Snapseed also offers sub-categories. For example, my favorite feature in Snapseed is the perspective modifier, inserted in the transformation tool. It allows you to change the horizontal or vertical perspective of the image, then automatically fills the missing pieces after the transformation.
Filters are available in different categories: blurring lens, glamor glow, tonal contrast, HDR scape, drama, grunge, grainy film, antiquing, Retrolux, noir, black and white and frames. Once they are applied, you can optimize the filters and play with the colors.
The last major feature of Snapseed is stacks, which allows you to return to see all the changes made to a photo and then reverse any of the individual changes required.
Unlike Photoshop, Snapseed is not great for creating photos, but it’s impressive for editing and is a decent application that anyone should have.
Pixlr is a bit like Instagram. It’s not exactly an app that performs Photoshop functions, but this limit is compensated by the creative department.
The application allows you to add a wide range of colorful and vivid effects and filters, as well as different frames and borders. You can illuminate, darken, pixelate or doodle brushes to highlight or reduce some areas of the photo, or simply edit the entire image with 12 different tools including red-eye correction.
The writing tool is the best of all the applications on this list. You can add multiple lines of text above the photo, choose from different font and style options, and change opacity, color and alignment. The included fonts and font packages are beautiful and expressive. You can also make creative collages with dozens of frames, borders and sizing options. Just select the independent Collage function at the opening of the app.
Pixlr is a Free app overall valid especially for amateurs to beautify photos and add a little ‘brio to the images.
The world of photography is keen on everyone, favored by smartphones equipped with ultra-powerful cameras.
