How to play Fortnite with split-screen

The split-screen feature in Fortnite was recently added to the game and, for now, it is only available for PS4 and Xbox One players. With it, you can activate a second local controller and use a guest account or allow the other player access your own Epic Games account and your progress.

In this way, both players will be able to use a single screen, divided horizontally and coordinate their actions, either in pairs or in a squad, in a much simpler way.

To play Fortnite with split screen on PS4 and Xbox One, do the following:

  1. Open Fortnite and enter the Battle Royale lobby;
  2. Select the “Doubles” or “Squad” game mode;
  3. Connect a second controller and select the player profile;
  4. The second player will be able to play with a guest account,
    or log in to their Epic Games account;
  5. Confirm the operation and start the game.

And ready.

For now, split-screen mode supports only two players locally and the first player is the one who will have control of the lobby, unless he passes it on to the second player. In addition, the split screen works only within matches and does not allow the sharing of skins and statistics between players.

Epic reports that because the two players are sharing the same connection, the game may be slow. Therefore, it is recommended to have a stable and fast network, preferably. Following these tips, you and your friend can enjoy Fortnite for two.
