Nokia 6 2018 is an update of the Nokia 6 2017 with 5.5-inch LCD display, Snapdragon 630 chipset with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and 16MP and 8MP cameras.
The second generation of Nokia 6, the Nokia 6 (2018) or ‘ New Nokia 6 ‘ or ‘ Nokia 6 2nd Generation ‘ is official, the smartphone was predicted to be announced on January 5th by HMD Global in China.
This is an update of the Nokia 6 launched by HMD last year in January, even in that case with debut initially only in China.
Nokia 6 (2018) is the first smartphone to be made official among those expected by HMD Global in 2018, after which Nokia 1 and Nokia 9 will arrive.
Before the official presentation on January 5, to reveal the Nokia 6 (2018) had been the TENAA certification leaked at the beginning of last December, then confirmed by a second TENAA certification that emerged earlier this year.
Coming to official specifications, Nokia 6 (2018) is an Android 7.1.1 Nougat stock smartphone upgradeable to Oreo coming soon with a body of 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15 mm (without camera projection) or 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm (with camera projection) and a weight of 172 grams which has a 5.5-inch LCD display with a 16: 9 aspect ratio with FullHD resolution (no display 18: 9 therefore) and protected from third generation Corning Gorilla Glass glass.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 630 chipset with octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.2GHz, Adreno 508 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM . The internal memory (eMMC 5.1) is optional, with a choice between 32GB or 64GB in both cases expandable with external microSD card (up to a further 128GB).
The Nokia 6 (2018) includes a 16MP photosensor with F2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), large 1.0um pixels and dual LED flash in the back and an 8MP front sensor with aperture F2.0, fixed focal length, 1.12um pixel and 84-degree wide angle.
There is support for OZO spatial audio recording and with the Bothie mode, you can take a picture or video with both cameras simultaneously.
Other specifications of Nokia 6 (2018) include a fingerprint scanner on the back, and it has a 3,000 mAh battery and a microUSB (type C) port.
Connectivity includes support for LTE Cat.4 (150Mbps in Downloads and 50Mbps in Upload), 802.11 a / b / g / n WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS (AGPS, GLONASS, BDS), FM / RDS. It has also a 3.5mm headphone jack port.
Regarding price and availability, the Nokia 6 (2018) is offered in China in black with orange and white shades with red shades with 300$ (Expected).
The Nokia 6 was originally presented in China in the last month of January so it is that exactly one year later the update is launched appropriately called Nokia 6 2018.
As last year, the version for the global phone market should be presented at the Mobile World Congress at the end of next February.
