Sometimes while checking our gallery we delete our photos just because of a bad handling, a gesture too fast, or even a big bug. But all is not lost! We offer two ways to recover your deleted photos on Android or bring your files back from the dead.
Recover deleted photos
First of all, know that we must act quickly. If you have deleted your photos weeks or months later but you are realizing your mistake now then it is unlikely that you can recover the photos.
On the other hand, if you realize the problem quickly, you should be able to recover all deleted photos.
Via your computer (without root)
You do not necessarily need to root your device to be able to recover photos, files and videos from your smartphone.
However, you will need to use a computer and software such as Recuva. This software, offered by the same developers who designed CCleaner can sometimes work wonders.
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Start Recuva.
- Select your device from the list on the top left and click Scan.
- When the scan is complete, select the file, and click Recover.
The preview of your file is not available but do not worry: it’s normal. Remember to save your file on your computer this time!
Small tip: with Recuva, you can also check several files to recover them all at the same time, it is particularly useful if you have accidentally erased an entire folder.
Many alternative software to Recuva exist, we can mention 7-Data Recovery, and it works in much the same way as the one presented above.
However, Recuva allowed me to get the best results. Dr. Fone is also quite popular.
You will notice that this operation also allows you to completely clean a smartphone, before selling it for example.
Via an application
Some apps allow you to do this directly from your Android device, but you will need a rooted smartphone or tablet.
We can suggest DiskDigger, which allows you to recover deleted files from your internal memory or even on a microSD card.
The advantage of this application is that it allows to choose which part of the system you want to scan.
- Version of the app: 1.0-2017-07-10
- Size of the app: 1.35 MB
- Compatibility of the app: Android 4.0 or higher
- Economic model: completely free
Launch a scan of your device, then select the files you want to recover from those that Diskdigger was able to rebuild.
It will give the preview of the photos, this time you will be able to visualize the deleted files more easily. The application gives you the opportunity to send it to you by email.
Great post. I am facing a couple of these problems.
Thanks
