How to Clean your phone Cover (Transparent)

In this guide we will see how to clean your cellphone cover. In the case of transparent layers, the attention should be greater because they usually become yellow with time

Those who take care of their cell phone usually use a hood to protect it, and like any accessory it is necessary to clean it from time to time. In the case of transparent, the attention should be greater because they tend to turn yellow with time, giving a dirty look to your device.

The good news is that cleaning a transparent cell phone case is pretty easy, and there are a number of products that you can use. In this article, we give you some tips on what you can use and how to clean the accessory.

How to Clean a Transparent Cell Phone Case

Here we list five methods that can remove stains and the yellowish appearance of a transparent or even white hood, and anyone can do it in the comfort of their home, with utensils and products that everyone has at home. Let’s go to them:

1. With water and detergent

This is the most basic method. Dip the hood in the water, wipe with detergent until all marks are removed and rinse under running water to remove any debris. The ideal is to use something to rub that does not scratch the accessory, and a good request is a toothbrush with soft tips.

The brush is a good option to cover all cracks, holes and cavities for cover buttons, but avoid using brushes with too hard tips, as they can scratch the cover.

2. With baking soda

Make a mixture of baking soda and water, to form a consistent paste. Apply to the entire body of the hood and let the product act for a few hours.

The bicarbonate will remove all stains and yellowish from the hood, and after some time just rub with a soft toothbrush. Rinse in running water to remove all residue and you’re done.

3. With isopropyl alcohol or multipurpose cleaner

This option is close to the method used to clean the smartphone itself, with one difference: you can use other cleaning products besides isopropyl alcohol, provided that at the end you rinse well and leave no residue that could damage the device.

You can use a multipurpose cleaner and a soft toothbrush in the same way as cleaning with a detergent; if you choose isopropyl alcohol, use a good quality cleaning cloth, preferably 100% cotton or microfiber, to leave no lint behind.

4. With vinegar

Vinegar is also an excellent cleanser when mixed with other elements. There are three very good use alternatives, one slow, but with good results and two faster:

  • Make a mixture with warm water, vinegar, detergent and baking soda in a bowl, soak the hood and let it act for 12 hours. Remove and rinse;
  • Mix 500 ml of water, two tablespoons of vinegar and two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide volume 10 (also known as hydrogen peroxide ). Soak the cap and let it act for 30 minutes. Remove and rinse;
  • Mix two tablespoons of vinegar and two tablespoons of toothpaste. Apply the paste to the hood and rub with a soft toothbrush until the stains are removed. Rinse and remove all residue.

5. With bleach or  bleach

One of the most popular disinfectants is also great as a product to clean a transparent cell phone. Dilute a little bleach in water, soak the cover and leave it for a few hours. Remove and rinse.

Note: do not use bleach on colored balls, as it can and will fade the color of the accessory.

Avoid the rubber method

In addition to being ineffective, passing an ordinary rubber in a transparent cover leaves a lot of residue behind, which can come to damage your cell phone. Prefer to use one of the methods described above, which deliver better results and leave much less fragments behind.
