The Samsung Dex program for Windows and Mac PCs is finally available for download. It’s a pity that at the moment it only works with Galaxy Note 10 and 10 Plus, although it will soon be compatible with other devices from the Korean company.
But what is Samsung Dex? What can you do with Samsung Dex? We discover in this article all that Samsung Dex offers and what its infinite features are.
Samsung Dex what is it?
Samsung Dex is a spectacular program that allows you to use all the smartphone’s functions directly via Windows and Mac PCs.
Simply connect the phone to the computer with a special cable to play the phone display on the PC/Mac screen. In this way we can use our Android smartphone with mouse and keyboard, directly from the computer, as if it were a normal program, but with the difference that we are actually using our smartphone.
The purpose is very simple: to use the files and applications stored on the smartphone on a larger display, simply and quickly.
It is very useful in the office, at work and in all those areas where using the phone with your hands can be inconvenient or problematic, while we have no problem using a PC or a computer.
In my case, for example, I can’t use my personal phone at work. With Samsung Dex instead I will simply connect the phone to the computer to be able to use it without problems and without limitations, directly with mouse and keyboard and therefore in an even more comfortable way.
While in the past to use Samsung Dex on Windows and Mac PCs it was necessary to buy a dedicated hardware base, now just connect the smartphone to the computer to use all these smart features.
In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, with Samsung Dex we can transfer files quickly from Windows/Mac PC to Samsung smartphones and vice versa: moving songs, music, applications, programs, photos and documents will no longer be a problem.
Finally, remember that Samsung DeX also allows you to transform a top-of-the-range Samsung smartphone into a real desktop PC, connecting it via USB Type C to an external monitor and perhaps completing the equipment with a mouse and keyboard. Now, however, Samsung DeX is also able to take possession of the screen (in addition to the keyboard and touchpad, if it were a laptop) of a Windows or MacOS computer, after installing the apps officially released by Samsung for the two platforms, which by the way you can download below.

The program is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 10 and MacOS 10.13.
NOTE
- currently only works with Galaxy Note 10. Soon support will also arrive for other Android smartphones
- you need to uninstall Android File Transfer because the two programs are not compatible with each other

Do you want to connect Samsung Galaxy to Windows 10 as Galaxy Note 10? Here’s how!
The minimum requirement is to have an updated Galaxy with Android Pie with One UI.
If you meet this requirement, you can take advantage of the feature that lets you connect your Samsung Galaxy to your Windows PC and use some of the features on your computer screen.
The function, called “Link to Windows“, can also be activated on smartphones prior to Galaxy Note 10.
How to do?
Just follow these simple instructions:
- install the APK file that you find HERE
- Install the Your Phone app from the Play Store
- once done just add the related toggle from the quick settings menu on Samsung
Done! I confirm that the method works on Samsung Galaxy updated to Android Pie with One UI, certainly on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 9.
Don’t try to install it on smartphones other than Samsung because you risk doing damage.
In addition to this, there is also the possibility of testing the potential offered by Parsec on the latest Samsung Galaxy, a tool for streaming video games from the smartphone to the PC.
In the Galaxy smartphones, the Parsec app works in symbiosis with PlayGalaxy Link and differs from its main competitors due to the fact that it does not need the two devices among which streaming is connected to the same internet network: it is possible to mirror even when the smartphone is connected to a mobile network.
If you want to try Parsec on a recent Galaxy device, like Galaxy S10 or Galaxy Note 9, you must:
- download the relevant app from the Play Store
- install the client for the PC, be it Windows, Linux or macOS
- create an account and configure it from your PC
- log in with the same account from the mobile app

The new features of Samsung Dex are NOT yet available for Samsung Galaxy Note 9. It will be possible to take advantage of these new features in a few months, when Android 10 will also be available for Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Samsung Dex Galaxy Note 8
I doubt that these new features of Samsung DeX will also be made available for Galaxy Note 8. Maybe I’m wrong. At the moment it is not possible to use these new features of Samsung DeX on Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung Dex Galaxy S9
The new features of Samsung Dex are NOT yet available for Samsung Galaxy S9. It will be possible to take advantage of these new features in a few months, when Android 10 will also be available for Samsung Galaxy S9.
Samsung Dex Galaxy S10

Samsung Dex Galaxy S8
