The Galaxy A70 was announced in April for $644. Since then Samsung has introduced the successor Galaxy A71 in the international market. Both phones have a mid-range technical plug and come with a 6.7-inch screen, eight-core processor, and 4,500 mAh battery, but have some differences. The smartphone also has quad camera and Android 10. In the following lines, learn what changes from A70 to A71.
The previous model is available in black, white and blue, while the new one can be purchased in black, silver, blue and pink.
Display
The Galaxy A71 retained the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, but features a different notch from the previous model. The Galaxy A70 came with the drop-shaped cutout, but the A71 comes with in-display camera.
Apart from notch, the two models are very similar in the front area, as they have thin edges. But the similarities do not go to the back. The main difference is the rectangle present in the Galaxy A71 which houses the quad camera and the flash. While the Galaxy A70 has the three lenses forming a vertical line.
Camera
The highlight of the Galaxy A71 is the quad camera. It has been split into a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra wide sensor, a 5 MP macro lens and a 5 MP depth sensor. The previous model came with the following triple set: 32 MP (main), 8 MP (ultra wide) and 5 MP (depth sensor).
In the case of front cameras, both have 32 MP to compose selfies. Both also perform Portrait Mode.
Performance and storage
The Galaxy A71 is equipped with the processor itself manufacture of eight cores that arrive up to 2.2 GHz. The speed is greater than the Snapdragon 675 installed on the A70, which has eight cores up to 2.0 GHz.
Although it also comes with 6 GB RAM as its predecessor, the release can still be purchased with 8 GB. Both feature 128 GB storage, with up to 512 GB microSD card space.
Battery
Both have 4,500 mAh battery. There has been no change in capacity because it can maintain the autonomy of the devices even a full day away from home. They also feature fast recharging technology, which can recover some of the phone’s power within minutes.
Android and additional features
The Galaxy A71 comes with the new Android 10 and the expected Dark Mode, which leaves the system with a grayscale and black interface. The A70 comes with Android 9 (Pie), but should probably get the update soon. Both have interface changes made by Samsung.
The on-screen fingerprint reader and face recognition have been retained on the Galaxy A71.
