Do you want to hide files or folders from the search results of Mac? Here’s how to do it!

If you want to exclude certain files or folders from indexing of Spotlight, maybe for privacy reasons or because you want to make Spotlight faster, do not worry, the operation is quite easy!

All you need to do is access System Preferences to select the Spotlight icon.

Then open the Privacy tab.

At this point you just have to click on the + button located at the bottom left to add all the folders or files you want to exclude from Mac search, or you can simply drag them into the appropriate area.

Now you just have to wait until the macOS reindicates the data to make the changes effective, the operation could last very little or be longer depending on the size of the hard disk. At the end you will be able to hide files or folders from the Spotlight search once and for all.

If mistakes or change your mind, always the window Notice of Spotlight, you can select the folder or files to restore, then click on the symbol – which is located at the bottom left.
