How to download and install Aptoide

Your friends have told you about Aptoide, an alternative store to the Android PlayStore through which you can download free applications and games of all types. This possibility interests you a lot but you do not have the faintest idea of how you can download Aptoide on your trusted smartphone. If you are hesitant about this issue, and you would like to know more, to avoid combining some “trouble”, know that you have just hit the right track. In this tutorial I will find the solution to your problem: I will explain to you, in a very simple way, as well as step by step, how to download Aptoide.

The alternative virtual store in question is only downloadable on Android smartphones and tablets. Mobile devices equipped with the Google mobile operating system, in fact, allow the installation of applications from third-party stores. This argument, however, does not apply to smartphones and Apple tablets. The operating system Apple, iOS, is a closed system and there is the possibility to install applications of different digital stores from the App Store.

You can also take into consideration the possibility of downloading Aptoide on an Android emulator: for this reason, if you need access to this particular PC store, I will explain how to install Aptoide on the main Android emulators: Memu and BlueStacks. If the question is of interest to you, I suggest you take a few minutes of free time to devote to the careful reading of my guide. Are you ready to start? Yup? Very well! I wish you a good reading as usual.

How to download Aptoide on Android

Activate the installation of third-party apps (preliminary procedure)

On Android mobile devices, the installation of applications from stores other than the PlayStore is possible, as long as this option is authorized manually by the owner of the device. To do so, you need to activate this particular option via the Android settings panel: I will explain below how to do it step by step.

Before starting, however, please note that the procedure I have indicated for installing applications that do not come from the Android PlayStore may vary depending on the version of the Android operating system, as well as the model of your smartphone or tablet.

Below you can find the procedure for Android devices until the Android version 7 Nougat and for devices that have the latest version of the Google operating system for smartphones, Android 8 Oreo.

Android 7 Nougat

To authorize the installation of applications from unknown sources, press your smartphone and go to the Settings menu (the app has a gear symbol). From the menu you will see on the screen, locate and tap the Security item.

Scroll through this screen to the end and locate the item Unknown sources. Next to this, move the lever from OFF to ON to allow the installation of applications from sources other than the PlayStore.

Once you have authorized the installation of apps from unknown sources, you can install Aptoide. To do so, start the browser you use to browse the Internet (Chrome, for example) and connected to the official Aptoide website ( aptoide.com ).

From its Home Page, download Aptoide by tapping the Install Aptoide item in the middle of the screen. At this point a confirmation message will appear at the bottom and you will be asked to authorize the download of Atpoide. Confirm by pressing on the item Download and, once the download has finished, tap on Open.

In order to install Aptoide you will have to press the Install button which will appear on the next screen. Then you just have to wait for the installation to finish (usually it does not take long, just a few seconds) and then tap on the item Fine.

Did you follow all the instructions I gave you? Yup? Very well. At this point the Aptoide app will be present in the screen of the applications installed on your device. You can now start using this store by tapping on it.

Android 8 Oreo

First, pick up your Android smartphone and go to the Settings menu ( gear symbol ).

From Android Settings, tap on Apps and notifications, then on Advanced, then reach the item Special access to the app and finally tap the words Install unknown apps.

From this screen, you will then have to select the source from which you will download the apk file for the Aptoide installation (for example the Chrome browser ). By tapping on the source, you must then move the lever from OFF to ON, corresponding to the Allow entry from this source. Through this procedure I indicated you will have authorized the browser you use to install the apk files, downloaded through it.

Then open the browser you use to navigate and get to the official Aptoide website ( aptoide.com ) and download the latest version of the digital store in question, by tapping on the Install Aptoide; you can find it in the middle of the screen.

A small message will appear on the screen asking for confirmation to be able to download Aptoide apk file. To authorize the download, tap the item Download. Once the download is complete, start the Aptoide installation by tapping the Open item.

An additional confirmation screen will open: you will be asked if you want to install the Aptoide application. To confirm, tap on Install. Wait now for the installation to complete (it will take a few seconds) and tap on the item Finish.

If you followed correctly all the instructions I gave you, the Aptoide application will now be included in the list of applications installed on your device.

Once you have started Aptoide by tapping on its icon, you can start using the alternative store to search for applications and games to download. Keep in mind, however, that in order to install applications or games in Aptoide, you will have to authorize their download and installation. I’ll explain below how to do it.

Before installing an app from Aptoide go to Android Settings (gear symbol). Then tap on the Apps and notifications, then on the Advanced item. Then find the item Special access to apps and finally tap on Install unknown apps. Through this section, you will then have to identify the word Aptoide and tap on it. Then move the lever from OFF to ON, corresponding to the item Allow from this source. Through this procedure, you will have authorized Aptoide to install all the apps and games in it.
From now on you will be able to download and install any application through Aptoide. However, I advise you to disable the authorization of unknown apps from the source related to your browser. To do so, go back to Settings> Apps and notifications> Advanced> Special access to apps> Install unknown apps. From this screen it will then be necessary to select the source with the name of the browser. Tap on it and then move the lever from ON to OFF at the Allow entry from this source.

How to use Aptoide on Android

Similar to the Android PlayStore, Aptoide is a virtual store that presents several sections with applications and games to download.

However, keep in mind that not all applications in Aptoide are safe: applications marked with a green shield with a V are reliable and have the word Reliable. The presence of this symbol guarantees that the file in question is virus free. Download only apps and games that have this wording, different applications may have been altered.

Once you have identified the application you want to download, install it by clicking on Install.
In order to install applications on Aptoide you will then have to authorize access to the memory of the device you own. To do this, simply press on the OK button and then on Allow, corresponding to the windows you will see on the screen.

Then wait for the download to finish the application and start the actual installation of the app by tapping on the item Install from the Android menu that will appear on the screen. Once the installation is finished you can start the app and start using it by tapping the item Open.
