When you do this search on Google you are sure to find many websites that explain how to increase the download speed of Torrent but in this article, we are going to summarize all those methods and suggestions in a single post so that you can choose the best possible solution and try it.
1. Install a lightweight Torrent client:
Firstly, the step you need to follow to increase the Torrent download speed is to install a lightweight Torrent client, the reason for using a Torrent lightweight client is because it focuses only on downloading Torrent thus speeding up the transfer. Even though BitTorrent is considered the most popular Torrent client, the only problem is its heavy apps and other features. 2. Choose a healthy Torrent:
To understand the concept of healthy torrent it is first necessary to know all the seeders and leecher present in the particular file, in simple terms a ‘seeder’ is the one who has a complete copy of the shared file through the network and a leecher is instead the one who has not a complete copy of the file but has joined the network to download it. So, once the leecher completes the download, it will also become a seeder for that same file. To obtain a high download speed, the number of seeders for the file must be greater than the number of leechers. In simple math it means that the higher the number of seeders, the healthier the Torrent file is. Then always check the seeder> leecher report before downloading any files.
3. Add an exception to Windows Firewall:
Since the Windows firewall can block your TorrenT client / incoming BitTorrent connections, it is better to add an exception to the Windows firewall to increase the download speed of your Torrent . All you need to do is navigate to Options> Preferences> Connections, and select the “Add Windows Firewall” exception and then click “Apply”.
(Select “Enable mapping” UPnP port in case it is deselected).

4. Change the General Settings to optimize uTorrent:
Select all 3 boxes in the general settings to increase the speed of your Torrent. You can access it from Options> Preferences> General and then select Add. Usually, the third option is checked by default, but if it is not, you can check it now.
5. Limit your upload and global download:

6. Change the number of connections:
After setting the upload / download speed of your torrents, you should now consider changing the number of connections to avoid overloads. Changing the settings could give you a good result. Go to Properties> Bandwidth, then set the global maximum number of connections to 150 and the maximum number of peer connections for Torrent to 100 and leave the upload slot as is without changing anything.

Adding more trackers seems to be a good option to optimize the Torrent download speed. When you add new trackers, it will add new seeds and peers, resulting in an improved download speed. Adding trackers to your Torrent is really easy, all you need to do is add these data links to your existing trackers.

You can add new trackers by right clicking on the Torrent file you are downloading, then select “Properties”. The General tab is where you can find the list of trackers. Scroll down and paste the trackers from the list we provided.
