Nokia 6.1 Plus is receiving the update to Android 9.0 Pie

Nokia 6.1 Plus is about to receive the update to Android 9.0 Pie. With this development, the Nokia 6.1 Plus becomes the third smartphone of the famous company, after the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 6.1, to get the update to the latest operating system of Google.

The Finnish company has also kept its promise to update both the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 6.1 before the end of October. The next device that should get the update, at this point, is the Nokia 8: both phones are scheduled to receive the update to Android 9.0 Pie within the next month, although Nokia has not yet provided precise dates.

The development was revealed on Twitter by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global. As many will remember, Nokia 6.1 Plus received Android Pie earlier this month via Nokia Beta Labs. Thanks to Nokia’s partnership with Google for the Android One program, the phone manufacturer is now able to provide faster Android updates.

As revealed by several users on Twitter, the latest software update on Nokia 6.1 Plus has a file size of around 1.3 GB and includes features such as new system navigation, settings menu and notifications. In addition, Android 9.0 Pie offers interesting features such as Adaptive Battery and adaptive and optimized brightness levels, in addition to the Google security patches that refer to the month of October.

Launched in August this year, the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 5.8 “full-HD 5.8” (1080 × 2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, combined with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of integrated memory.

As for the photo compartment, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is equipped with a dual rear camera, featuring a 16 megapixel primary sensor, with f/2.0 aperture, and a secondary sensor (monochromatic) of 5 megapixels, with aperture f/2.4. On the front, the phone supports a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
