How to recover data from broken or damaged iPhone

Our iPhone is a device that contains our whole life in most casesLet’s think about it: telephone numbers, conversations, photographs, personal documents, books, work and personal documents are all contained in a small device that we keep in our pocket.

Fortunately, alongside iTunes (which is the “official” software), there are also a number of alternative programs: one of these is Dr.fone,  one of the best software specifically designed for  iPhone data recovery  from a broken phone or damaged.

It is compatible with all versions of iOS, with iPhone and iPad and, having to install it on the computer, both with Windows and with Mac systems.

What data can be recovered with Dr.fone?

The data that can be recovered with Dr.fone are different, and are essentially those to which an external program can access; you can recover most of the data that can then be extracted and placed on a new phone or, after a reset, on the same device.

Among the files that can be recovered there are:

  • Contacts, calendars and reminders;
  • E-mail attachments;
  • Conversations of Whatsapp, iMessage and SMS;
  • Notes and vocal reminders;
  • Safari bookmarks;
  • Photos and videos of the camera roll;
  • Videos stored in the app;
  • Documents stored in the app.

These documents are recovered based on the degree of damage to the phone (for obvious reasons), but if we can not find them directly on the device Dr.fone is able to extract them from other sources.

In particular, in addition to the device itself, you can ask the program to analyze both the iTunes backups, ie those that are stored on our computer, and whether, if we have enabled the appropriate function, iCloud backups,  which are recovered directly from the server.

The data that can be recovered from the backups are the same that can be found directly on the device.

How to recover data?

Dr.fone is very simple to use: after opening the program, simply connect the iPhone or identify the backups from which to try to restore the device data.

In this way (for the iPhone, you need to restart in DFU mode, but the program will give us all the necessary instructions directly) you can scan the data, so the program will show a preview of what it can recover, and if we want we can proceed with the restoration.

Dr.fone is therefore extremely useful especially in cases of need; in addition to these functions, it is also possible to  delete  the personal data contained in the iPhone, perhaps before selling it, and then perform a backup of the data (on a working telephone), or perform a system restore without iTunes.
