WildEarth’s wildlife, Coachella lifetime pass, Worms suspends NFTs following major backlash

The Arts Festival and Coachella Valley Music have formed a partnership with FTX US to release a series of NFT collectibles. These collectibles consist of tokenized passes that offer lifetime access to the yearly music festival. Visit at this site.

The music festival will be held across two successive three-day weekends in California every April. The festival will be headlined by Billie Ellish, Ye, and Harry Styles. 

The partnership was made public on the 26th of January 2022. The duo announced that a Coachella marketplace established on the Solana blockchain and NFTs that provide both virtual and real-world benefits will be launched. 

The first collection of Coachella’s NAFTA was auctioned on the 4th of February 2022. The drop featured 10 exclusive passes that give lifetime access to virtual and live events, 1,000 virtual posters, and 10,000 tokenized photos that can be exchanged for a physical version. 

The access passes called the ‘Coachella Keys Collection’ offer owners lifetime access to the festival experience. The access passes also come with VIP benefits like backstage access, secret parties, fine dining, and accommodations.  The access passes were cautioned to the highest bidder with a starting price for bids. 

WildEarth supports wildlife conservation via NFTs

WildEarth, the team, and brains behind a live-streamed TV channel focused on nature has released its NFT collections. The collection is said to support animals and the overall wildlife conservative that are under its jurisdiction. 

On the 2nd of January, 2022, the first collection was launched on WildEarth’s marketplace based on the Polygon blockchain. The collections came in distinct-sized sets that ranged from 150 items to 900 items. Focusing on the art, each of the NFTs represents a unique animal under the care and supervision of collaborative conservation efforts. It costs about $196 (120 Polygon) to mint these NFTs. 

During an interview with Cointelegraph, WildEarth announced that about 40% of funds earned from the sale of its NFTs will be towards the conversation. It is said that 40% of the funds will be diverted to habitat custodians of reserves and parks to keep on with conservation efforts. 

Immediately after the initial sales are finalized, WiildEarth affirmed that it will cost royalties of 10% from secondary sales. That’s not all, 80% of the royalties have also been promised to be donated to the wildlife habitat custodian of the animal represented in the NFT. 

Wax lyrical about Rick Flair’s NFTs

The play-to-earn game known as Blockchain Brawlers whidhbia set to launch in the second quarter of the year features a wrestling battle mode. The battling mode is said to allow players to earn NFTs and BRWL tokens by winning their fights against other opponents. 

WAX’s partnership with Rick will also see the launch of Flair’s persona tokenized across one hundred non-fungible tokens. The NFTs come in tiered rarity that can be utilized in the Blockchain Brawlers games.

Each of the NFTs commemorates Ric Flair’s unique appeal and spirited character. The NFTs are carefully designed by WAX studios depicting his prominent flowing locks, off-the-charts enthusiasm, and diamond-studded robes.

The NFTs will feature 100 packs that consist of one fighting ring NFT and a legendary Flair NFT. Some buyers will also have the chance to acquire ultra-rare gear NFTs portraying championship belts that can be included in their wrestler NFTs 

Team17 gives up on NFTs after community pushback

One of the popular gaining companies gave halted its NFT plans after major pushback from the NFT community. 

Worms being a household name has been in the mainstream for more than 20 years with over 75 million copies sold. The firm behind the popular video game franchise, Worms declared on the 25th of January that its proposed NFT project dinner MetaWorms has been put to hold. 

The game was envisioned to introduce the Worms series into blockchain through NFT integration. However, the project was canceled after the community aired their displeasures. Via a note on its website, the firm acknowledged that they’ve listened to the community, development partners, and Teamster about all the concerns they’re shared. To this end, the company affirmed that there will be ne retreat docking the NFT realm. 

It is not all hype and a bed of roses for NFTs as the gaming industry doesn’t subscribe to the idea. A lot of passionate gamers believe that the energy-intensive nature of crypto and possible scams linked to the industry is bad for business.
