Bigben and Kylotonn have announced WRC 8, the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship for the 2019 season, due out in September on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Based on feedback from the community and the experience gathered during the eSports WRC Championship, the development team has improved some aspects of the game, including the graphics and career mode, but also the driving dynamics and physics of the vehicles.
In the first trailer the pre-season tests of the Ford Fiesta World Rally Car at the Monte Carlo Rally and the new Turkey Rally are put on display. In WRC 8, enthusiasts can choose among the best drivers of the official teams of the 2019 season, which sees the return of Sébastien Ogier (6 times World Champion) of the Citroën Racing team, accompanied by Esapekka Lappi. Toyota will try to defend the constructors’ title obtained in 2018 with Jari-Matti Latvala, Kris Meeke and Ott Tänak.
This year the 9th Champion Iridato Sébastien Loeb will also return, who will lead for Hyundai Motorsport in support of Thierry Neuville, Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo. M-Sport Ford, will instead count on Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen to attempt the assault on victory.
WRC 8 will also offer a selection of WRC 2 drivers and Junior WRC riders as well as some historical models that will be revealed shortly. The game includes more than 100 special stages distributed in 14 countries.
With a new climate management system, developed to add random elements to the driving experience and increase realism, new challenges will arise: a different road holding, adjustments to the machine settings, optimization of tire choice, real-time information from the team to always be ready for climate change.
