How to set up automatic reply in WhatsApp

How many times would you like to automatically reply to messages that arrive on WhatsApp? If you have an Android smartphone, know that there is an app that allows you to set up automatic WhatsApp answers from specific contacts or groups in a simple and fast way!

AutoResponder for WhatsApp, developed by our XDA friends, can respond autonomously to a person – or a WhatsApp group – with a preset answer from you. And that’s not all, let’s see how it works!

AutoResponder for WhatsApp

To be able to set up automatic answers on WhatsApp we will first have to download AutoResponder for WhatsApp, an app that is found free on the Play Store and that you can download by clicking here.

Once installed and started, the first thing you will be asked is to give the application permission to access notifications: this will allow AutoResponder to capture the arrival of a WhatsApp message and, if necessary, respond.

Once given permission you will be taken to the main screen of the app: what we will do soon will be “set rules” that the application must follow!

In general, a rule is to tell AutoResponder the person (s) or group (s) to which you must respond – with a response specified by you – if you get a message from them. But it’s harder to say than done: let’s see how to set them up:

How to set up automatic answers WhatsApp

To set up automatic answers for WhatsApp, on the main AutoResponder page, click the “+” symbol on the bottom right to issue a new rule.

At this point, a screen in English will open – at first sight not very intuitive – but simple to use. The first section is “Received message” and answers the question ” Which message should I reply to? “.

It should be entered in the precise message that a person/group has to send you to start the automatic response. If you do not care what the message you receive, then click the “ALL” button at the top right or enter an asterisk in the text field.

The second field is ” Reply message “: here you have to enter your default reply message such as “I‘m at work”, “I’ll call you later” and so on.

In the “Receiver” section, then, you must specify whether the rule applies to specific people ( “Contacts” ) of specific groups ( “Groups” ) or both ( “Both” ), and then specify them in the field below, ie in “Specific contacts“.

In this last field, you will have to enter the exact name (it does not work with the number) of the people and groups to whom you want to reply with the automatic message indicated above. Each person/group must be separated by a comma.

You can finally specify precise people to ignore (in the “Ignored contacts” field) or, if you purchase the PRO version, set a time interval after which to send the message.

Finally, click the green check button at the bottom right and you will have created your rule! It will be visible in the main menu and can be deleted by making a swipe left on it.
