For owners of Apple devices, iCloud is one of the essential cloud storage features. This service allows us to save photos, videos, apps and music without occupying the memory of our device. It is also essential when we want to restore an iCloud backup. How do you say? Don’t know how to make a backup with iCloud? We’ll show you right away!
How to make a backup with iCloud
Obviously to use iCloud we need an account connected with our Apple ID. If we use an Apple device, the account matches with our Apple ID.
Furthermore we remind you that the basic plan includes 5 GB of free storage. If necessary, we can however decide to increase the space by signing up for a monthly subscription.
Backup with iPhone and iPad
So let’s see how to make a backup on iCloud using our iPhone or our iPad.
- Let’s go into the Settings;
- We select the section relating to the user name;
- We select the iCloud item;
- Scroll down to enter the iCloud Backup section;
- We activate the iCloud Backup option, moving the toggle to On;
- Finally we select the option Back up now.
At this point the device will start to back up all our data. Once this is done, in case of recovery, we will be able to use the backup just made to recover all our data.
Backup with Mac
Unfortunately, we cannot make a complete backup on our Mac. However, we can still store app data, photos, videos, contacts and more on the cloud.
Let’s see how to take advantage of iCloud with our Mac.
- Click on the System Preferences icon;
- Click on the iCloud icon;
- At this point we can choose which services to enable for iCloud storage;
- Once the service is selected, the backup will start automatically.
At this point when we restore our Mac or buy a new one, we will be able to recover all the data of the previously selected services, simply by logging in with the account with which we made the backup.
