How to download free games from the Epic Games Store

There are two categories of free games on the Epic Games Store. The first is the permanent one, which contains titles that will be free for their entire life cycle, but which also bring microtransactions (in-game purchases).

The titles that are permanently free (so far) are as follows:

1. Fortnite Battle Royale (Save the World mode is paid);
2. Dauntless;
3. Battle Breakers;
4. The Cycle;
5. Battle Chess;
6. Magic the Gathering: Arena.

The second category includes games offered free to users for a week. The number of titles can vary, usually one or two at a time.

The offer of free games changes every Thursday.

So be careful not to miss any game.

To purchase and download free games from the Epic Games Store, do the following:

1. On the computer

1. Go to epicgames.com, download and install the Epic Games Store client (Windows and macOS);
2. Open the client and click on “Shop”;
3. In the “Free Games” banner, click on the “See more” button;
4. Click on the free game you want to purchase;
5. Click on the “Get” button and then on “Place order” (the value will be $0.00).

And ready.

2. In the web browser

1. Go to epicgames.com;
2. Click on the free game you want to purchase;
3. Click on the “Get” button and then on “Place order” (the value will be $0.00).

And ready.

Once you have included the game in your account, it will be available in the “Library” tab.

To download a game, do the following:

1. Open the client and click on “Library”;
2. Click on the game you want to download;
3. Choose the installation location and then click on “Install”.
