Guide to reset password Windows 10, 8, 7

Needless to deny it: if you have arrived at this article you have a big problem with your Windows password.

Maybe when you created and set the Windows password you used a particular one, not too simple, but you forgot to save it in some file online or to write it in some sheet. Or you wrote it and you lost the paper.

In short, whatever the reason that led you to this article, your problem is always the same: you can not find the Windows password, you have to recover or reset. And we’ll explain how to do it in the simplest way possible.

If you have problems with your Microsoft account and can not remember the password to access your Windows PC, thanks to the PCunlocker program you can try to solve the problem. I can not guarantee 100% that you will get the result and you can log in again on your PC, but at least you can try. Also because there are not many alternatives: if this guide does not work, you will not have any chance to recover the password of your Microsoft Windows account.

Try does not harm, so let’s see how to use the PCUnlocker app, a tool that can help you to restore and recover your forgotten Windows password.

On the contrary, to be more precise, the app in question makes the RESET of the password: it does not allow you to recover it, but it resets it so that you can log in again into your Microsoft account on Windows.

Let’s see how to proceed.

Recover Windows password

Step 1:  Download PCUnlocker tool for Windows. It’s a zipped file that contains an ISO file that you need to extract to your desktop

Step 2:  Now you have to burn the ISO file to CD or DVD. Alternatively, you need to create a USB stick that can be started from the bios. Clearly the way of the USB stick is faster and more comfortable; I suggest you use the WinToFlash app to transfer the ISO image to a USB stick and make it “bootable” in a few simple steps.

Step 3:  Now that you have created the bootable USB stick or a CD/DVD with the app, you need to insert the flash drive or CD into the PC. Once this is done, turn it off and restart. When you switch on the next time you need to access the BIOS menu of your computer. Unfortunately, the procedure to access the BIOS changes from computer to computer, but in general you have to press something like (DELETE, F8, F2 or similar) on the keyboard. If you pay attention, the computer should indicate it as soon as you turn it on using a phrase that appears at the bottom of the display. Unfortunately I can not be more precise in this case since the procedure changes according to the computer model.

Step 4: When you have entered the BIOS, you must change the system boot priority by giving precedence to the USB or CD. Choose based on where you saved the program before: if you have created a USB stick containing PCUnlocker, then give priority to USB, otherwise choose to boot from CD / DVD.

Step 5:  The PC now starts from USB or CD / DVD and loads the PCUnlocker tool. You will see an image like this.

Now you have to do 3 simple steps to complete the procedure.

First of all choose the item “reset local admin/user password”.

Then the app will automatically choose the SAM registry file to load all the usernames that were created on the computer.

Step 6: Now you have to choose the username (and therefore the account) for which you want to restore and reset the Windows password. Then click on the Reset Password button. The app will ask for confirmation, then the work will begin.

Step 6: The tool will complete the Windows password reset process and set Password123 as the default password.

NOTE: If you are trying to access a Microsoft online account, the tool will turn it into a local account before the password is reset.

At this point you just have to press the Reset button to restart Windows and log in to your account.

At the first restart you can enter your computer without a password. Easy, no?

Windows password forgotten how to do? Try PCUnlocker

In short, it is clear that  PCUnlocker is the perfect tool for those who want to reset and restore the Windows password. It is the ideal tool to use in situations like:

  • lost or forgotten Windows password (including administrator’s password)
  • need to log in to a computer where you do not know the password
  • Windows administrator is disabled, disabled, or the password has expired
  • Windows account locked because the password was wrong too many times and more.

If you are in any of these situations and you need to reset Windows password, try this program. The result is not 100% guaranteed, but an attempt is always good to do it.

I was able to reset the password of the old computer I had at home and in this way I came back to use it without having to format it. A nice time saving I have to admit.
