Currently, WhatsApp does not allow you to keep an account active simultaneously on two different phones. As you know, when you need to activate the messaging app on a second phone, you have to disable it from the first one. Fortunately, however, there is a method that allows you to use a single account WhatsApp, associated with a single phone number, on two different devices. If you also want this, continue reading this guide to find out how to use the same WhatsApp account on two phones.
How to use a single WhatsApp account on two different phones with the same number
As many knows, WhatsApp makes the registration using the mobile number. Therefore, a specific number is associated with each account. This implies, in simple terms, the impossibility of using a single account, associated with a single mobile number, on two different devices.
If you try to enter your WhatsApp login credentials on another smartphone, in fact, the mobile number of the latter will replace the one previously associated with the account and the other device will be automatically disconnected. Fortunately, there is a simple – how ingenious – trick that allows you to circumvent this limitation and use the same account on two or more devices.
The procedure works on any type of smartphone (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) but requires the use of the Google Chrome app. If you have not already installed it on your smartphone, you will then have to download it from the official Store of your operating system. Once this is done, all you have to do is follow these simple steps.
- Launch Google Chrome on the second mobile device;
- Connect to the web.whatsapp.com website by clicking here:
- activate the desktop version (on Google Chrome just press the three points at the top and enable the “request desktop site” item).
- with the main smartphone, it scans the QR code that will be output on the secondary mobile phone.
This way you can use the same WhatsApp account on two phones. Of course, it is still an adaptation and therefore an unofficial solution, and sometimes you could verify errors, but no worries, you can safely send and receive messages.
