Sharp has introduced first smartphone with two notches in the world: one for the top and one for the bottom, all the details on new AQUOS R2 Compact.
The notch is one of the innovations for smartphones introduced in recent years that has more divided users and fans of the mobile world. Now Sharp is presenting the world’s first smartphone with double notch, with its AQUOS R2 Compact.
The notch is now an integral part of many smartphones: think of Apple with its iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max and XR or the much criticized Google Pixel 3 (there are those who called it an airstrip), until to get to the elegant drop of Huawei Mate 20 and One Plus 6T.
The notorious cleat has become a trademark of all phones equipped with borderless screens, which widen the size of the display to the margins while presenting a “safety island” for sensors and front-facing cameras.
There are many who dislike the presence of the notch on their devices, opting for models without it like Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and now Sharp introduces even two in its new model. Let’s see it together in detail.
Sharp AQUOS R2 Compact: the double notch
The new smartphone of the Japanese company goes against the trend: while several companies are working on a way to reduce the cleat, or in some cases even eliminate it directly, Sharp with its AQUOS R2 Compact presents two.
The feature is immediately noticeable, with a notch in the lower part and in the upper part of the device: the Home button is in fact enclosed within the elegant drop (which also contains a sensor dedicated to reading fingerprints).
A singular choice, which makes the Sharp smartphone the first device band in the world to have two notches. The general style of the phone seems to refer to the iPhone of the XR line, and has some interesting features such as a 5.2-inch Full HD+ 2280 x 1080 pixel display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 4Gb RAM and internal memory of 64 GB.
It has a single back camera of 22 megapixels and an 8 megapixel front. The confirmed operating system is Android 9 Pie.
How to have it? If the unique feature of the double notch intrigued you, combined with the characteristics that make the phone fall in the mid-high range, you must know that currently the device is present only for the Japanese market.
