13 Best multiplayer games for PS4, Xbox One and Switch to play as a group

Importantly, we list match-focused games rather than titles that offer a cooperative campaign. The idea is to gather all the people for fun, taking turns between pairs or teams and not leaving completing the long missions.

Multiplayer games for any video game

1. Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat is that franchise that few people who like games are unaware of. Whether it’s laughing at the fatalities or getting stressed about not being able to perform a combo, it’s a good title to play in class.

2. Just Dance

If the footprint is to dance, then Just Dance is the way. The only caveat though is that, depending on the console, the title will require extra accessories to map player movements.

3. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Who has never heard of Crash either? This 2019 remaster allows you to split the screen with up to 4 people in arcade mode. Grab an outfit and set the trap!

4. Overcooked 2

Survive chaos while preparing recipes in the best time possible in this restaurant simulator. Feel the love and hate that is playing Overcooked in up to four people.

5. Brawlhalla

Brawlhalla is remembered as the free version of Super Smash Bros : deal damage until your opponent is unable to return to the ring. Allows you to connect up to 8 people in one match.

6. Super Bomberman R

Bomberman is also an early classic. The goal is to explode opponents by placing bombs at strategic points in the scenario, cornering opponents or taking them by surprise. Play with up to 4 people.

7. Rocket League

Rocket League is a soccer game, but instead of people, who controls the ball are rocket-powered cars. Allows local gameplay with up to four people as well.

8. Street Fighter V (PS4)

Like Mortal Kombat, another early-game title is Street Fighter. The characters are already in the subconscious of your memory, just choose and fight!

Group Games for Nintendo Switch

It’s obvious how focused Nintendo is on creating a family environment for its multiplayer gaming consoles. No Switch is no different, so much so that you can see it in the graphic style of the company’s franchises such as Mario and Pokémon.

The problem with these games is that they are unique to the branded video game, not available on other consoles. Here are five more for group multiplayer:

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart showed up at Super Nintendo and has since reigned in the racing game universe for Nintendo consoles, especially when the goal is just to have fun. Split the screen with four people and enjoy the good times.

2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together not only Nintendo characters but also other franchises like Street Fighter, Metroid, Castlevania. It was the fastest selling game on the Nintendo Switch, no wonder: fun is guaranteed for up to 8 people.

3. Super Mario Party

Super Mario Party is dedicated to group play, multiplayer modes allow each player to use only one Joy-Con, playing either for themselves or in pairs – up to four players. There are several mini games within main mode.

4. Snipperclips: Cut it out, together!

At least two people must come together to solve the puzzles of each phase, combining objects and shapes. Snipperclips are fun and funny as you discover the possibilities for each scenario. Lets play with up to four people.

5. Splatoon 2

This is a friendly shooter game. Instead of focusing on killing as many enemies as possible, players (up to eight) should focus on painting as much space as possible before the opposing team.

About Tarun Bhardwaj

I'm a fan of the world of video games for PCs since childhood, from the days of games on Floppy Disk and the last glories of the Commodore, reading magazines such as PC Gamer, Games For My Computer and many others. Even the other platforms intrigue me, but the first love never forgets.
