iPhone XS Not Charging When You Connect with Cable : Fix

Some iPhone XS or XS Max are not charging: here is how to solve the problem. What to do if the iPhone XS battery is not charged by connecting cable

iPhone XS does not charge anymore when you connect the cable? How to solve

As you probably know, iPhone XS, XS Max and XR have been announced by Apple for a few days.

Although we have already talked a lot of iPhone XS and all its news, today I want to draw your attention to the new Apple smartphone to signal a rather annoying problem highlighted by buyers and to propose a simple and fast solution.

The problem: iPhone XS does not charge battery

Have you recently purchased a new iPhone XS or XS Max and have you ever found the device still uncharged after leaving it in charge the entire night?

Do not panic, it is a fault that can rarely happen, but fortunately we already know how to avoid it. Here are all the details below.

The problem highlighted by some owners of iPhone XS is the following: to make it short, in some cases the battery charge does not start immediately after connecting the Lightining cable but requires that the smartphone be unlocked or activated and that the cable is disconnected and reconnected to start the charging process.

While in most cases recharging starts normally, in some circumstances this does not happen. It seems that, in some cases, the problem is resolved with a wait of 10 or 15 seconds, while other times it is necessary to wake up the iPhone display and re-insert the Lightning cable with the display on.

Nothing serious, but if a user does not pay attention is likely to be sure to put the smartphone on charge, when the battery is not charging.

So, when you are ready to go out and you think you have iPhone XS charged to the maximum, in reality the battery has not charged at all.

What is this problem due to?

We do not know exactly, but it’s almost certainly a software bug.

In fact, many hypothesize that the problem could be related to the Restricted Mode of iOS 12, active mode to reduce the likelihood of undue access to your terminal via Lightning connections (an option that is anyway possible to disable the settings by going to Settings> Face ID and code and deactivating “USB accessories”).

Fortunately, however, Apple is aware of this problem and will solve it with a software update.

But if you want to solve it immediately, here’s what you can do.

How to fix iPhone XS problem that does not charge the battery

You have 2 methods at the current time to solve this problem:

  1. Update your iPhone XS to iOS 12.1 Beta 2: this update fixes the root problem (apparently it was a software bug)
  2. Follow the instructions above: connect the battery charging cable to iPhone XS, turn on the screen, disconnect the cable, reconnect the cable with the screen on and make sure that iPhone XS is charging the battery in this way.

If you do not want to manually update to the Beta version of iOS, please be patient: I think within a few days/week Apple will release this software update for all its users. Indeed, maybe Apple could release a small update just in these hours just to solve this bug.

There is no real “Charging” emergency – Conclusions

And here, as if by magic, your iPhone XS returns to load properly thanks to our indications. It was therefore a small problem, solved in a simple and fast way.
