Necessary external supports

You can perform the backup process on a hard disk partition itself, or on an external medium. Obviously it is recommended to perform this operation on external support, bearing in mind that in case of physical failure of the hard disk, all your files will be lost.

Once you’ve chosen the media to use, connect it to your computer and perform the following steps:

  1. First, click on the Start menu and then on Settings (ie the gear icon).
  2. Now select Update and security and from the left menu select Backup.
  3. At this point click on Add unit, select the external support inserted and click on More options.
  4. In the new screen then click on Add a folder under the Back up these folders section, and select the folders to add to the backup process.
  5. Finally click on Run backup now under the Overview section, and wait for the process to finish.

Once you’ve chosen the media to use, connect it to your computer and perform the following steps:

  1. First, first click on the Start menu and then on Control Panel.
  2. Now select Perform backup of recovery under the System and security section.
  3. In the new screen, select Configure backup, select the external support inserted and click Next.
  4. At this point check the Manual selection item and click on Next again.
  5. In the new screen then select the folders to be added to the backup process, remove the check mark from Include an image of the drive system, and click Next.
  6. Finally click on Save Settings and run backup and wait for the process to finish.

Once you’ve chosen the media to use, connect it to your computer and perform the following steps:

  1. First, click on the Start menu and then on Control Panel.
  2. Now select Save backup copies of files with File History under the System and Security section.
  3. At this point click on Select unit to select the external support inserted, and on Exclude folders to exclude certain folders from the backup process.
  4. Finally, click on Activate and wait for the backup process to finish.

Backup folders with EaseUS Todo Backup Free

You can also perform the backup process through some programs, including EaseUS Todo Backup Free. It is in fact an effective and above all very intuitive software, since very few clicks are sufficient to perform an operation.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. First go to the official website and click on Download for free.
  2. Now enter your email and click on Try Todo Backup Free to download the free version of the software.
  3. Once downloaded and installed, start it on your computer.
  4. In the program screen then click on Backup file from the left menu and select the folders to be added to the backup process.
  5. At this point click on Browse in the Destination entry, select the external support inserted and click on Ok.
  6. Finally click on Proceed and wait for the process to finish.
