Mobile Fortnite: play with controllers on iOS and Android

With the new update to Fortnite brings great news on mobile: you can use a bluetooth controller to play on smartphones. Here’s how

Fortnite smartphone changes face, thanks to the new update that makes compatible bluetooth controllers to the mobile version, always under the criticism of fans who would like a more fluid game mode.

The new update, 7.30, confirms the intentions of Epic Games to make FortNite increasingly accessible, especially by mobile users armed with smartphones: what better way then to integrate support wireless joysticks and controllers, capable of transforming an iOS device and Android in a real console.

The data are clear: recently Netflix has identified its direct competitor in Fortnite, admitting not to underestimate the numbers of the battle royale held by the mobile market.

More and more users are using the smartphone to play, and from today they can do it in a simpler way: here’s how.

Bluetooth is required to use a wireless controller on a smartphone. Once connected to the phone as a normal device, just open Fortnite and start a game to play without the inconvenient touch controls.

If connected to the controller, Fortnite will turn off the vibration for the effects of the game on the phone. For now Epic Games has provided a list of controllers compatible with mobile gaming (excluding Sony, it is not possible to use those normally used on PlayStation 4).

The compatible pads are :

  • Android – Steelseries Stratus XL, Gamevice, Xbox, Razer Raiju, Moto Gamepad
  • iOS – Steelseries Nimbus and Gamevice.

The controllers are third-party and quite familiar to PC Gaming fans, easily traceable also on Amazon. In addition to this, Epic Games has expanded its support to 60 HZ (which according to different users would make the possibility of victory higher): the models now supported are Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Honor View 20 and Huawei Mate 20 X.
