For a while ‘Netflix offers the ability to save any movie or TV series locally on the PC, so you can watch again even without a connection (always using Netflix, not other readers!). Find out in this guide how to download videos from Netflix on smartphones, tablets and on PC.

NOTE: the downloaded video files are encrypted and usable only with the Netflix app; you can not open these files with any media player or other programs.
How to download videos from Netflix on smartphones and tablets
To be able to download the videos on Netflix, first of all install the official app of the on-demand service using one of the links. If you want to download them using your Windows computer, look at the dedicated paragraph further down in the article.

Note: make sure you always have the app updated to the latest available version, otherwise you will not be able to download Netflix videos.
Once installed, the app logs in with the credentials you created during registration (username and password); once inside the app select the episodes of the TV series you want to download and tap the icon in the form of an arrow down.
Tap on every episode you wish to download, even the whole season (or seasons). The episode will be downloaded to the internal memory of your smartphone, ready to be viewed even without internet connection.
If you need to download a movie, the button you need to tap on is identical but is located on the introduction screen.
The videos downloaded from Netflix can be saved either in the internal memory or in the MicroSD possibly present (of course only on Android devices) and you can also choose the quality of the download (the HD is only available on certified devices).
To change the download destination and the quality of the videos downloaded from Netflix simply slide to the right (to open the side menu), tap your finger on “Settings app” and then select the item “Download location” or “Video quality for download“.
Not all movies can be downloaded for local playback, much also depends on the shrewd signed by Netflix with other distribution majors, but I can tell you that movies and TV series produced by Netflix in person can always be downloaded locally.
How to download videos from Netflix on Windows
Instead of the smartphone and tablet, do you want to use a notebook to wade movies or TV series while traveling? In this case it will be enough to have Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 as the operating system and download the official app from the following link.

Once downloaded the app will be sufficient to open it (you can easily find it in the Start menu), enter the credentials and use the Download button in the poster of the film chosen or next to each episode of the series TV to download.
Once clicked, the video will be downloaded to the hard disk in an inconspicuous position (for the curious, the encrypted files are kept in:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\xxxxxxx.Netflix_xxxxxxxxxxxx\LocalState\offlineInfo\downloads
and ready to be played even when there is no internet connection.
As already mentioned for mobile, not all movies and TV series can be downloaded for offline playback, but those branded Netflix always offer this possibility.
