In this guide, we will explain how to download a movie from an m3u playlist.
Downloading a video from an m3u list is a fairly simple procedure, all you need are 2 free programs:
- VLC Media Player;
- JDownloader 2 or any other download manager.
Before starting, remember that downloading content protected by copyright is illegal, for example, movies and TV series, as well as other content on the IPTV lists. Then use this guide exclusively for download legal content, such as those in the public domain or video of your holiday.
With this premise, we start with our guide… The first thing to do is get the link of the video to download, to do so we will use VLC Media Player.
Open the m3u list with VLC, to do it, right mouse on the m3u file and when opening the context menu select Open with -> VLC media player. Alternatively, you can enter the link in the m3u list by clicking on the top menu of VLC Media -> Open network Stream, then enter the link in the Enter a network URL field.
Once the m3u file is open, we will display the VLC playlist containing all the videos in the list, if it is not displayed, you can activate it from the main menu View -> playlist.
At this point you just have to select a video to download that must necessarily be “on demand” (you can not download “live” content) and click with the right mouse to choose the item Save.
From the window that opens, we will have to copy the link in the Source field and download the chosen video using JDownloader2 or another download manager.

If you use JDowloader2 the link will be added automatically to the download, however, if it does not happen, simply click on the right mouse button in the Capture links tab and select the Paste links from the context menu.
