Samsung Galaxy A9 vs Samsung Galaxy A7: which to buy?

Samsung Galaxy A9 or A7: which model to choose? Here is all the useful information on specifications and features to help you with the purchase.

Samsung Galaxy A9 is officially available from a few days ago and is the second model of the Galaxy A line on sale this year, presented together with the younger brother A7 a few weeks ago.

The new models are part of the economic line of Samsung Galaxy, to be clear from the lower costs and performance for the middle user: the new models however seem to want to reverse this trend, offering new exclusive specifications such as the innovative (triple or quadruple) camera and overall experience improved compared to the past.

Samsung Galaxy A9 and A7 are expanding the family of smartphones produced by the South Korean company putting themselves next to the top models such as Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy 9/9 Plus, waiting for the future smartphone folding Infinity Flex (maybe destined to change permanently the company’s line up).

For those undecided about which to buy, here is a quick comparison between the two models.

Samsung Galaxy A9 vs Samsung Galaxy A7: differences, screen and performance

Sons of the same production line, the Samsung Galaxy A, but with two completely different worlds under the lens of the technical characteristics. While Samsung Galaxy A9 and A7 share the same octa-core processor Qualcomm SnapDragon and the Android 8 Oreo operating system, with external connection through the increasingly used USB Type C, the other two smartphones have some peculiar differences that distinguish one from the other.

Samsung Galaxy A9 is indeed equipped with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, with a Full HD resolution of 2220×1080 pixels (no notch) against the 6-inch Galaxy A7 that enjoys the same resolution: minimal differences, we are talking about just three tenths of inches between the two screens, for a display that in both cases is able to fully meet the needs of users.

On the side of the autonomy, Samsung Galaxy A9 is able to do something more than the A7 thanks to a good battery of 3800 mAh. The two phones also differ in terms of RAM memory, with 6 GB of A9 and 4 GB of A7 and internal memory; 128 GB expandable via microSD for A9 against “only” 64 GB of A7.

Camera: triple vs quadruple

But the real challenge, and consequently the real factor to be undecided between a model or the other, concerns the triple and quadruple camera present respectively on Samsung Galaxy A7 and Samsung Galaxy A9.

The smaller model can count on a triple camera with a 24 MP main lens, accompanied by two other sensors such as an 8 MP wide-angle lens and a 5 MP depth sensor. On the other side, A9 does something incredible, resulting in the first smartphone Samsung to mount 4 cameras: the main cameras are the same on A7, but a fourth telephoto lens of 10 MP is added.

The telephoto lens on A9 can definitely make the difference in the shots obtained in motion, keeping in mind also in the choice the uniqueness of the model with four cameras compared to the current smartphone market (turning the device into a real mid-high-end device ).

Samsung Galaxy A7 and A9: price

The last factor of choice concerns the price and the expense of which you want to be borne: the two models, in fact, although belonging to a production line average, differ in the costs to the public in a non-indifferent way.

Samsung Galaxy A7, available in three colors Black/Blue/Gold, has a list price of 533.11 dollars (which for services offered is undoubtedly one of the best cheap smartphone on sale).

Samsung Galaxy A9 has a sales price of 599 dollars, almost twice the lower model, and is available in various colors such as Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink.

The choice is yours, taking into account the services offered and the exclusivity you want to carry in your pocket in terms of smartphones. If you prefer to save money without sacrificing good performance, A7 is the right choice for you; on the contrary A9 could surprise you with its specifications and the four cameras that are, undoubtedly, a feature to be taken into account.
